BBC Gardeners’ World Live
The Client
BBC Gardeners’ World Live is a hugely successful and popular public show held annually at the NEC, Birmingham in June during a 5-day period. Since it’s first show in 1993 it has established itself as one of the most important Gardening Events in the UK.
The Brief
Digital Imaging Services Ltd were awarded the high profile contract of producing all the show signage for BBC Gardeners’ World Live and our Project team pulled together to ensure the £30k+ project ran smoothly and that all graphics were produced to the highest possible standard within budget and within the 7-working day schedule. The project brief detailed over 100 separate items for both the interior and exterior features of the exhibition. The variety of graphics ranged from free-standing pedestals and graphics, A-frames, PVC banners and hall wraps to vinyl lettering, illuminated signs, full colour prints on 3mm rigid foamex board and grand format cader banners.
What we did
The first step was to produce innovative layout designs from the initial brief while keeping in line with the Gardeners World brand image. Each design was proofed back to the client for approval. The material and finishing for each item was advised by our Project Management Team depending on it’s positioning on-site. With the final step being full installation at the NEC site. Our experienced Installation Team used a variety of access equipment, working at heights in excess of 12m. Each stage of the project was overseen by one of our experienced project managers.
Result
Each stage of the project was managed successfully with all graphics being installed within the time period requested by the client. The smooth running of the show was rewarded when we won the same contract for BBC Gardeners’ World Live the following year as well as being acknowledged by other show organisers to produce the signage for their shows.
